I post this every year around St. Patty’s day because…well…It’s an awesome recipe! Who says you have to down a whole meal’s worth of calories to indulge!?! Try it and enjoy.
Did you know that a small McDonald’s Shamrock Shake has 530 calories and 73 grams of sugar in it? Yikes! Here’s a healthier, tasty, additive, dye and chemical-ingredient-free alternative…
Combine these ingredients in a blender:
-1 cup lowfat milk or almond milk
-1/2 cup plain or vanilla Greek yogurt (for added creaminess)
-2 frozen ripe bananas
-approx. 1/2 tsp mint extract (adjust to taste)
-a small handful of semi-sweet or dark chocolate chips
-a large handful of fresh spinach
-up to 1 Tbsp. tsp cocoa powder (adjust to taste)
I promise, you won’t even taste the spinach!! Happy St. Patty’s Day!
